Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to deliver your meals:

• Phone number — for account creation and OTP verification (via Firebase Authentication).
• Name — to personalise your account and orders.
• Delivery address & precise location (GPS) — so your delivery partner can find your exact doorstep. Location is collected only when you add or pin an address; we do not track your location in the background.
• Order & subscription history — to manage your meals, deliveries, and wallet.
• Payment information — payments are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details on our servers.
• Device & notification token — to send you order updates (push notifications).
• Usage data — basic app events to keep the Service reliable and improve it.

• To create and secure your account and verify your phone via OTP.
• To prepare, route, and deliver your orders to the correct address.
• To send order status updates (e.g. "wala assigned", "out for delivery", "delivered").
• To process payments and manage your wallet and subscription.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• To improve the quality, safety, and reliability of the Service.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

• Delivery partners (walas) — receive your name, delivery address, and location to complete your delivery.
• Razorpay — our payment processor, to securely handle transactions.
• Service providers — Google Firebase (authentication & notifications), and our hosting/infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal — if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

We use your device location only to capture a precise delivery point when you add or adjust an address. This helps your wala reach your exact doorstep. You can decline the location permission and enter your address manually — the app remains usable. We do not collect location in the background.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your rights").

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure token-based authentication, and restricted access. Payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay and never stored on our servers. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

You can, at any time:

• Access and update your profile and saved addresses in the app.
• Request a copy of your personal data.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing hello@dr-foodie.in.
• Opt out of push notifications from your device settings.

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Service relies on trusted third parties — including Google Firebase (authentication and push notifications) and Razorpay (payments). Your use of these features is also subject to those providers' privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
